Eritrean delegation to visit Ethiopia this week – Ethiopian spokesman (Reuters)

ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) – A delegation from Eritrea will arrive in Addis Ababa this week as Ethiopiaโ€™s prime minister tries to resolve a conflict with the neighbouring nation, which used to be part of Ethiopia and waged a 30-year struggle for independence.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who was at a rally hit by a grenade attack on Saturday, has said that ending war and expanding economic ties is critical for stability and development in the impoverished Horn of Africa region.

โ€œA delegation from Eritrea will arrive in Addis Ababa this week,โ€ an Ethiopian Foreign Affairs ministry spokesman said.
