These are not the same grievances simply because they are directed at the same government. It is like two kids crying: one cries because his mother left for the market and will return; the other cries because his mother has died. Both are crying, but the loss, urgency, and meaning of their pain are entirely different.
A shared opponent does not automatically mean a shared pain, shared cause, shared interests, or a shared future.

Fano, by contrast, is not a liberation front seeking to separate Amhara from Ethiopia.
You cannot build national unity with partners who have not clearly answered whether their ultimate loyalty is to a common Ethiopian state or to a project of liberation from it.
