ቢዘገይም በሕወሐት የተባረሩት የአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ መምህራን እንዲመለሱ ተወስኗል!!!

ከዩኒቨርሲቲ መምህራኑ አንዳንዶቹ በሕይወት የሌሉና በሕይወት ካሉትም ውስጥ አብዛኞቹ ወደ ዩኒቨርሲቲው ለመመለስ ፍላጎት የማይኖራቸው ቢሆን እንኳን በጊዜው የተወሰነው ውሳኔ የዩኒቨርሲቲውን አካዳሚያዊ ነጻነት የጣሰ፣ ፍጹም ዘረኛና አምባገነናዊ ውሳኔ መሆኑን የሚያመለክትና አሁን እንዲመለሱ መደረጉ የምሁራኑን ክብር የሚመልስ ነው።

ከዚህ ቀጥሎ የሚታየው ደብዳቤ ዓለማየሁ ደስታ የተባሉ ሰው የመምህራኑን መባረር በሚመለከት በጊዜው ለተለያያዩ አካላት ያሰራጩት ኢ-ሜል ነበር። እሳቸው መምህራኑ የተባረሩት በጊዜው በግፍ በወያኔ የተገደሉትን 17 የዩኒቨርሲቲ ተማሪዎች በመቃወም ምርመራ እንዲደረግ በመጠየቃቸው ነው ብለዋል። ተጨማሪ ምክንያት ሊሆን ይችላል። ነገር ግን ዋናው ምክንያት አብዛኞቹ አማራ መሆናቸው እንደሆነ አያጠያይቅም። አማራ ያልሆኑ ካሉ ደግሞ “ከደርግ ጋር ሠርታችኋል” የተባሉና ርምጃው አማራ ላይ ብቻ እንዳልሆነ ማስመሰያዎች ብቻ ናቸው።

The Addis Ababa University once more takes a brunt of the government’s wrath.

Last Friday, April 9, 1993, the Ethiopian government dismissed 42 senior

professors and lectures from the university.

The university which was closed after a bloody massacre in early this year

when 17 young students were slaughterd was reopened only two weeks ago.

Among the fired professors are all the full professors of the medical school,

two top surgeons of the nation, the top brass of the law school and the creme

of the faculty of technology.

Most of the professors had protested the killing of the 17 students and had

requested the government to form an enquiry into the killings.

The dismissal was effective from last Friday and the remaining faculty of the

university, both tenured and untenured, were told to re-apply for their jobs

for a 2-year contract. This is perhaps the only place in the whole globe where

tenured professors and associate professors are reduced to signing a 2-year

contract.

The following 42 Faculty members have been fired by the government.

The letter that was send to these individuals was signed by Dr Dori Mohamed.
